Here are some of the benefits of carbon fiber bows:

• They are not fragile like wooden bows.
• The playability is incredible, often better than a comparably priced wooden bow.
• Weight/resiliency relationships can be altered dramatically which means that the properties of wood are no longer a limitation.

All of that being said, it still takes highly skilled craftsmen to consistently manufacture good carbon fiber bows. Synthetic bow manufacturers are bow makers in their own right. The carbon fiber bow companies that we represent are all committed to high levels of quality and consistency, and if there is a brand not shown in our online store, there is probably a very good reason for that.

Carbon fiber has allowed for some interesting developments including the adjustable kevlar braid inside of the B. Rolland Spiccato model bow (so the player can adjust the tension of the stick - regretfully this bow is no longer made, but it seemed worth mentioning as a example of technological possibilities), and the very light but very resiliant bows being manufactured by the Arcus company (which offer a stable feel and great sound with incredible maneuverability.)
